Annual physical exams give you peace of mind knowing the state of your pet’s health. It also provides a baseline for what is normal for your pet’s health so you can readily see any changes from the previous year.
Firstly, our pets can’t speak. They cannot tell us if they feel off or unwell. Pets also usually have no other indicators of internal illness. We need to examine them every six months and run some routine screening tests to detect underlying disease before it is clinically apparent.
No one likes vaccines, but they exist to help keep your pet safe from some deadly diseases. Here at Sully Animal Hospital, we talk with each owner and assess your pet’s risk. This helps us create a vaccine protocol we feel is best for their specific needs.
We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control these pests in your house, in your yard, and on your pet.
Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal disease in pets in the United States and many other parts of the world. It is caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels of affected pets, causing severe lung disease, heart failure, and damage to other organs in the body.
We will provide guidance regarding your pet’s nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance, and performance.
Our in-house laboratory facilities provide serum chemistry and can return results quickly, allowing for a smoother experience for you and your pet. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
We offer referrals to an internal medicine specialist who performs ultrasounds/endoscopic procedures and can help us with the diagnosis of more complicated cases.

We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, shampoos, flea and tick control products, and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry prescription diets.
As a behaviorally-focused clinic, we take a pragmatic approach to behavioral issues.
Looking first at the medical aspect of behavior, we seek to rule out any underlying medical condition. For example, we have had patients come in that are urinating in the house only to find out they are in the early stages of a treatable urinary tract infection. Pet health problems start as or are influenced by behavior issues, and even a healthy pet may have behavior problems that disrupt home and family life. We can provide advice and recommendations regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling, and aggression.
The doctors at Sully Animal Hospital will help guide you and your pet toward the right type of training to address your pet’s behavioral issues.
